Sts Peter and Paul Catholic School opened its doors for the 2024/2025 academic year on Monday 19, 2024. That following day the Bishop met with the parents and staff to strengthen the resolve for a successful academic year.
The year began with a mix of anticipation, excitement, and nostalgia. Students returned to the vibrant campus, ready to embrace both learning and faith. The feelings were spiced by the change in leadership of the school, and new commitment of the faculty to pursue the goals of the institution.
However, beyond the classroom walls, a significant meeting took place the following day —one that emphasized the vital partnership between parents, the Church, and the school community.
Purpose of the Meeting
On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 5 p.m., parents, teachers, and the school’s leadership gathered to rally together for the new academic year. The meeting served as a bridge connecting faith, education, and community.
The highlight of the gathering came from Bishop Jerome Feudjio, whose eloquent words resonated deeply: Catholic education thrives when parents actively engage, nurturing their child’s faith journey. The partnership between home and school ensures that the values taught at home align with the teachings of the Church.

Parents: Active Participants in Catholic Education
At Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, parents are more than mere spectators. They play an active role in shaping their children’s faith, character, and spiritual growth. Bishop Feudjio’s message underscored this truth.
As the primary educators, parents contribute significantly to the holistic development of their children. Their involvement extends beyond drop-offs and pick-ups; it is a commitment to fostering a vibrant Catholic community.
Ideas and Initiatives
During the meeting, various ideas were shared. One standout proposal was to create a dedicated online space — a “Parent Corner” on the school website. In this virtual hub, parents can share initiatives, celebrate achievements, and encourage donations.
By fostering this sense of community, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School aims to strengthen its mission of holistic education, where faith, academics, and character formation intertwine.
The School
The Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School is one of the historical jewels of the US Virgin Islands. It was established as an elementary school in 1924. Due to the support it got and the community's need, it was expanded in 1946 to a High School, graduating its first class in 1950. Ever since the school has educated countless children from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
